GHOSTS and GOBLINS at GHOST TOURS!

On October 23, 2008 Don and I took Jake, Jaycee, Kaleb, Christian, Gabriel, McKayla, Jaydon, Ellie and Janelle's sister Shannon and girls to SGMT's GHOST TOURS. It was held in the new Santa Clara Town Hall.
We heard stories told by Ghosts with buried treasures!

Goblins all around!

One ghost lost his hairy toe. He offered us stew. I bet you can image what kind?

Great Dancing by the goblins.

All the grand kids wanted to go back and see these guys again. Of course they didn't want to get too close to them.

Tending the cutest kids in the world!

Don and I tended Jake (9), Jaycee (almost 7) and Kaleb (4) while Aleisha and Jason they went with Jason's family on a 5 day Church History trip. They left Monday October 20 and should be home in about one hour from now! The children were so good and minded Grandma and Granpa very well. We love them and enjoyed spending this week with them.
Of course we spend time at McDonald's! Isn't Kaleb adorable?

"Mom", says Jaycee, " I have something to tell you. I have a boyfriend."

"Oops"

Fun at McDonalds.

Kaleb had so much fun at Staheli's farm with his preschool.
Hey they just arrived while I was finishing this.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful children with us old people.
We're tired but glad for the experience.

DAWNA directs THE SECRET GARDEN

St. George Musical Theater presented "The Secret Garden"
September 18 through October 11.
I decided to direct the show only if I had plenty of good help. I knew that I couldn't do it if I had to worry about costumes, music, set, etc. I had a fabulous crew and a wonderful cast. In twenty years of directing I have never had such talented and dedicated people in all positions. My heart goes out to all involved.
THANK YOU TO ALL!

Thank you for the flowers. They are so beautiful! They were from "Speaking Roses" (Cheryl Hawker). There were words printed on the petals such as

"Thank you, Dawna" and 'We love you".

Bonnie Doughty playing Mary Lennox with Aleisha Kenworthy Black as Martha
during the song "Hold On"

Ryan Nickles as Dickon with Bonnie singing "Wick"

Andi Behunin as Mary with Errol Jones as Ben the gardener.

Archibald (Aaron Reep) adores his dead wife (Lily)
of 10 years played by Katie Salter.

"The Quartet" sung by brothers Neville (Joel Thomas) and Archie (Aaron Reep) with
deceased sisters Lily (Katie Salter) and Rose (Joy Thomas).

The Set was incredible.
Thank you Cheryl Hawker, Deward Wilson and of course my sweetheart Don.
The costumes were wonderful.
Thank you J.J. Vuki.
"I Heard Someone Crying" with Mary, Archibald, Lily and Ghosts.
A special thank you to Brodie Perry (Musical Director). You are amazing!
Thank you with all my heart to Kerry Perry (Producer and Ass't Director). I wouldn't have made it without you. You are my hero.
Karyn Wright (Stage Manager) you were the glue that held all of the pieces together. WOW!

ALEISHA as Martha in THE SECRET GARDEN at SGMT

Aleisha played Martha, Mary Lennox's maid. She was wonderful, funny and adorable. Her voice just filled the Cox Auditorium. She hit the money note every night in the song "Hold On". Below are photos with Andi Behunin as Mary Lennox.

Martha is trying to convince Mary that she will like going outside to play.
Mary replies, "I Hate it".
Mary sings, "If I Had A Fine White Horse"
"Oh Dear, Oh Dearie Me"

The Ghosts have fun with Martha in the garden!

JOSEPH COAT OF MANY COLORS

Matthew Prince from Las Vegas (and New Harmony) asked me to make him a "Joseph Coat". He was going to be Joseph in a production in Las Vegas. Well the production fell through but he still wanted the coat. Matthew is a very talented young man 16 years of age. He also met Christian and Gabriel at Thunder Ridge Boy Scout Camp this past summer. Matthew, Christian and Gabe came to Pine Valley in August for a day. We started the coat that day.
I mostly used scrapes from other projects over the years. It was fun but took lots of time. I didn't have a pattern or really didn't know how to make it until I got started. That is how I do things it seems.
There is a sun as a cape on the top. Check out the moon, stars, corn, sheep and cows.

The sheep! I did put ears on them after this photo.
Cute cow?

Corn patch.
Well Matthew did pay me but................. It is never enough. He is renting out the coat. Hurricane High School will be the first to use it in November.

GENERAL CONFERENCE

Bret, Melissa & Kyson came Conference weekend to spend time with us and watch Aleisha in "The Secret Garden". Kyson is getting so big. We haven't seen him near enough. He is 11 months old. Grandpa loves to kiss his neck.
"Hey Grandma" said Kyson "when I grow up I want to be just like Gabriel."

Gabe and Christian hoard the cinnamon rolls!

Look how everyone enjoys Conference!! Is anyone listening? Maybe we shouldn't have the chicken and noodles until after 4:00pm.

FUN IN PINE VALLEY

The weekend of September 27 Brian, Aletha, Brynlee, Kambria and Gavin came to visit us and see the production of Secret Garden. On Sunday Aleisha, Jason, Jake, Jaycee and Kaleb came up to join in as well as Annalee, Bryce, Draven, Taylor and Kaylee. Bob and Janelle, Christian, Gabriel, McKayla, Jaydon, Ellie and Aspen also made an appearance and we were jam packed with fun and activities.
Jaycee wrote a play and directed the "cute girls" in her production.

Another "cute girl" always has her camera ready.

"What do we do now?

Ellie decides it's time to dance in grandma's dress up clothes!
